Over 2,000 students of Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH) have benefitted from the “Feed YABATECH Students Initiative,” a flagship program aimed at supporting students with essential food supplies.
The initiative, organized by the Student Union Government (SUG), provided beneficiaries with food items, including noodles and vouchers to purchase groceries at subsidized rates.
Speaking on the impact of the program, SUG President Morakinyo Sola described it as a first-of-its-kind effort, emphasizing that it was driven by a passion for student welfare.
“This is the first time in the history of YABATECH that we are launching such an initiative. The ‘Feed YABATECH Students Initiative’ was born out of a deep commitment to supporting our fellow students. It aims to provide food packages to 2,000 students, including those living with disabilities,” he said.
Sola further urged the federal and state governments to step in and support undergraduates with food assistance, particularly in light of the rising cost of essential commodities.
