The Liberia National Office of the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has officially commenced the 2025 national examinations for school candidates across the country, starting today, Monday, April 28.
The examination schedule kicks off with the Liberia Junior High School Certificate Examination (LJHSCE), which will run on April 28 and 29. A total of 53,562 ninth-grade students from junior high schools nationwide are expected to participate at 396 designated centers.
Following this, 47,008 sixth-grade pupils will sit for the Liberia Primary School Certificate Examination (LPSCE) on Wednesday and Thursday, April 30 and May 1, at 397 centers across the country.
The Liberia National Assessment Test (LNAT) will then be conducted on Friday, May 2, for 35,002 third graders on their respective school campuses.
Meanwhile, the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) is scheduled to hold from Thursday, May 15, to Tuesday, June 10, 2025. During this period, 53,140 twelfth-grade students will take the exam at 377 centers nationwide.
As preparations continue, Head of WAEC Liberia, Dale G. Gbotoe, has urged all candidates and school authorities to avoid any form of examination malpractice. He emphasized that WAEC, in collaboration with the Government of Liberia and the Ministry of Justice, is ready to take strict action against anyone found guilty of exam fraud.
Gbotoe also appealed to the Ministry of Education and key educational stakeholders to support WAEC’s efforts to ensure a fair and credible examination process, both now and in the future.
