The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has introduced new digital study platforms to support students preparing for the 2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).
Dr. Amos Dangut, Head of WAEC’s Nigeria National Office, announced the initiative during a press briefing on Thursday. He explained that the study tools were developed to ensure candidates have access to essential learning resources across core, arts, science, and commercial subjects.
The digital platform, known as the WAEC E-Study Portal, is available at waec.estudy.ng. It allows students, teachers, and schools to access past WASSCE questions, answer formats, marking schemes, structured learning plans, and performance analytics.
WAEC also integrated data analysis features on the portal to help candidates evaluate their past performance, recognize common errors, and improve their exam readiness. According to Dr. Dangut, “Students’ performances in previous examinations are analysed with the aim of highlighting candidates’ weaknesses and proffering solutions to assist candidates’ learning.”
Candidates can access additional materials through WAEConline.org.ng, which includes Chief Examiners’ Reports—valuable insights on how answers were assessed in past exams.
In a further effort to enhance communication and engagement, WAEC introduced WAEC Konnect, a dedicated platform for interaction between candidates, schools, and WAEC officials. The portal, accessible via waeckonnect.com, offers past question papers, answers, examiner reports, and exam updates in one place.
WAEC emphasized that these tools are designed not only to prepare students for the upcoming exams but also to ensure inclusivity and accessibility in learning.
This development comes as WAEC prepares for its first Computer-Based WASSCE, scheduled to begin on April 24 and run through June 20, 2025. Over 1.97 million candidates from more than 23,500 schools across Nigeria are expected to participate.
WAEC has been at the forefront of digital innovation in education, having launched a digital certificate platform in 2022, which enables global certificate access and verification.
