The University of Ilorin has taken disciplinary action against four students for various acts of misconduct. According to a recent statement from Kunle Akogun, the university’s Director of Corporate Affairs, the decision was made following recommendations from the Students’ Disciplinary Committee (SDC) and approved by the Vice Chancellor on July 5, 2024.
Two of the students have been expelled from the institution, while the other two have been rusticated. Rustication, which involves suspension for a specified period, means these students will be away from campus for one academic session.
The rusticated students are Olabanji Toluwanimi David and Dosunmu Ezekiel Olabanji. Toluwanimi, a student in the Department of Communication and Information Science within the Faculty of Communication and Information Sciences, and Ezekiel, from the Department of Marketing in the Faculty of Management Sciences, will both be suspended for one academic year.
