Academic Staff Union of Secondary School (ASUSS), Ogun State chapter, has sent a message of appreciation to Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun over the end of the year bonus given to secondary school teachers across the state and the rest of workers.
In a message on Christmas day, signed by ASUSS Chairman, Dr. Felix Agbesanwa, Prince Abiodun was praised for remaining a worker-friendly governor over the years.
“We say thank you sir on behalf of over 13,000 secondary school teachers, who have benefited from this good gesture of yours,” the statement said.
Governor Abiodun had directed that all workers be paid end of the year bonus.
“He did the same last year without telling anyone. This year’s own did not come to us as a surprise. He was one of the few governors that quickly approved the national minimum wage. He has been so supportive to us and to Labour in general,” Agbesanwa said.
