The Tai Solarin University of Education Alumni Association has presented scholarships to the six best 200-level students, selected from the six colleges of the university.

According to the national president of the association, Mr Bolaji Oladeji, in a statement on Thursday, the scholarship, which covers the tuition fees of the beneficiaries, was initiated to reward hard work and promote the pursuit of academic excellence among undergraduates.

While presenting the scholarships to the undergraduates during the matriculation of the newly admitted students held on Wednesday, Oladeji urged the fresh students to shun vices like cultism, examination malpractice, and drug abuse, and instead make excellent academic pursuits their watchword.

The statement reads in part: “The alumni association of Tai Solarin University of Education has awarded scholarships to six undergraduate students across the six colleges in the university.

“The scholarship, which covers full tuition for each of the best 200-level students in each college, was presented by the national president of the association, Mr Oladeji Bolaji Julius, at the matriculation ceremony of the university held on 8th January 2025, at the University Auditorium.”

He said the scholarship scheme is an established legacy and initiative of the alumni, to stimulate a reading culture and serve as a reward for academic excellence among undergraduate students.
