The Romanian Government has launched the Romania Government Scholarship 2025, offering fully funded opportunities for non-EU students to pursue undergraduate, master’s, and PhD degrees at accredited universities in Romania.

This prestigious scholarship aims to support international students by covering all tuition costs, providing financial aid, and fostering academic collaboration between Romania and other nations, as highlighted by the DAAD scholarship platform.

Successful applicants will receive full tuition coverage for the entire duration of their chosen program. They will also be provided with a monthly stipend to assist with living expenses, with bachelor’s students receiving €65, master’s students €75, and PhD candidates €85 per month. Accommodation subsidies will be available for students staying in dormitories, depending on availability. Additionally, recipients will have access to public transportation under the same terms as Romanian students and will be exempt from registration and visa fees, easing the financial burden of studying abroad.

To qualify for the Romania Government Scholarship 2025, applicants must be non-EU nationals with an academic performance of at least 7/10 or the equivalent of a “Good” score in their previous studies. They must submit a complete application with all required documents and must not hold Romanian citizenship or any form of protection in Romania. Applicants must also not be family members of diplomatic personnel accredited in Romania.

The scholarship is available to students pursuing undergraduate, master’s, or PhD programs across various fields, except Medicine, Dental Medicine, and Pharmacy. Bachelor’s programs last between three to six years and are conducted in Romanian, while master’s programs run for one to two years, also in Romanian. PhD programs, which span three to five years, may be offered in Romanian or other foreign languages, depending on university regulations.

For students who are not proficient in Romanian, a one-year preparatory language course will be provided before the start of their studies. However, this requirement does not apply to PhD candidates enrolling in programs taught in English or other foreign languages.

This initiative provides a valuable opportunity for international students to gain a world-class education while experiencing Romania’s rich culture and academic environment.
