President Tinubu Appoints New Governing Councils for Federal Colleges of Education

On Wednesday, August 7, 2024, President Bola Tinubu approved new appointments to the governing councils of several Federal Colleges of Education across Nigeria. Chief Ajuri Ngelale, the President’s spokesman, announced these changes in a statement.

Ismaila Gadaka has been appointed Chairman of the Governing Council for the Federal College of Education (Technical) in Yauri, Kebbi State. Joining him on the council are Abdulhakeem Adegoke, Pam Ishaya, Abubakar Fakai, and Zara Usman as members. This new leadership is expected to guide the institution towards further development and excellence.

The Federal College of Education (Technical) in Isu, Ebonyi State, now has Mohammed Takori as its Chairman. Dauda Onipede, Victor Danzaria, Solomon Ayuba, and Mario Owumi will serve as members of this governing council. Their roles will be crucial in shaping the college’s educational strategies and policies.

In Benue State, Baba Homsuk has been appointed Chairman of the Council for the Federal College of Education in Odugbo. Kayode Ajiboye, Rex Ogbonna, Jude Ngaji, and John Viko will be working alongside him as members. Their leadership is anticipated to enhance the college’s educational standards and community engagement.

The Federal College of Education in Jama’are, Bauchi State, will now be led by Aisha Tahir as Chairman. Her council includes Dorren Udechukwu, Bar Yaji, Mustapha Shehu, and Joshua Adewale. This new team is tasked with advancing the college’s mission and improving its educational impact.

In Sokoto, the Federal College of Education in Gidan Madi will be guided by Chairman Abdullahi Adamu. The council members, including Olatunji Akinbiyi, Mohammed Malala, Saleh Audu, and Lami Oguogho, are expected to focus on raising educational standards and fostering academic growth.

The Federal College of Education (Technical) in Benin, Edo State, will now have Tukur Jikamshi as Chairman. Abdullahi Loko, Asimiyu Alarape, Abubakar Bello, and Christopher Okaeben will join him as members. Their leadership aims to improve the college’s technical education programs and overall quality.

President Tinubu has urged the newly appointed board members to dedicate themselves to enhancing the standards of learning at these federal colleges. Their commitment is essential for advancing educational excellence and addressing the needs of students across the nation.
