The Oyo State Government has commenced the disbursement of bursary awards to its indigenes studying law, medicine, and aviation, as well as final-year students in universities and polytechnics across Nigeria.
This was disclosed in a statement issued on Saturday in Ibadan by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Dr. Sulaimon Olanrewaju.
According to Olanrewaju, about 2,950 students were selected from a pool of nearly 3,000 applicants after meeting the required criteria. Among the beneficiaries, approximately 105 are medical and clinical students, while four are studying maritime and aviation. The remaining recipients are final-year students in polytechnics and universities.
He further noted that Governor Seyi Makinde had earlier approved a total of N554.9 million for the bursary awards.
