In a bold move to promote academic excellence, Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has launched the ‘Imole Statewide Public and Private Schools Students SSCE Scholarship’, aimed at recognizing and supporting top-performing students in the Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (SSCE).
The scholarship, backed by Electronic Collections Group (ECG), will benefit students from both public and private schools across all 30 local government areas and the area office of Osun State.
According to a statement by the Commissioner for Education, Hon. Dipo Eluwole, the initiative will grant ₦1,000,000 (One Million Naira) to the overall best student in the state. Additionally, the best-performing student from both public and private schools in each local government will receive a ₦100,000 (One Hundred Thousand Naira) scholarship award.
To further encourage excellence, the best-performing public and private schools will be awarded an educational support fund of ₦500,000 (Five Hundred Thousand Naira) to enhance academic programs. Recognizing the vital role of educators, teachers of the top students in each local government will also receive special gift rewards.
Speaking on the initiative, Eluwole reaffirmed the government’s dedication to improving education standards and fostering intellectual growth. He urged teachers and school administrators to adequately prepare students for the 2025 WAEC SSCE, ensuring they excel and qualify for these prestigious scholarship awards.
