Olushola Oladoja, a postgraduate student at the University of Jos, has emerged as the new National President of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS).

In the election held on Wednesday at the Old Parade Ground in Abuja, Oladoja secured 300 votes to defeat his closest rivals—Salauhudeen Suleiman of the University of Abuja and Gambo Abubakar from Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Lapai.

The electoral process saw the participation of over 358 student leaders, including Students’ Union Government (SUG) presidents from tertiary institutions nationwide. The election was conducted under the supervision of Comrade Suleiman Sariki, Chairman of the NANS Convention Committee.

Some delegates praised the process, describing it as transparent and credible, and commended the organizers for ensuring a smooth and fair election.
