Students in Nigerian tertiary institutions now have a chance to participate in a nationwide VirtualTest, aimed at promoting learning and providing student support funds as rewards. This test will be conducted periodically on the Mobile Classroom app and will cover various academic courses each month. For August 2024, the focus will be on students of Mass Communication, Political Science, Business/Public Administration, and Social Science Education.
Nigerian students studying these courses, regardless of their institution or location, are encouraged to join the VirtualTest on the Mobile Classroom app. The test will determine the beneficiaries of the N4 million support fund available for August. Esteemed guest lecturers from various higher institutions across the country have been selected to administer the test in different categories. These lecturers have also set up classes on the app, where they have uploaded video lectures on various topics that participants are required to study ahead of the contest.
The lecturers for the August test include Dr. Ayobami Elegunde from the Department of Business Administration at Lagos State University (LASU); Dr. Wasiu Tejuoso from the Department of Mass Communication at Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY); Dr. Sheidu Kamoru from the Faculty of Education at the University of Lagos (UNILAG); and Dr. Tokpo Coronation from the Political Science Department at the Federal University, Otuoke.
The VirtualTest will be live on the Mobile Classroom app, allowing participants to join from their locations at the scheduled time. However, students who fail to join at the start time will miss the opportunity to take the test. The schedule for the August 2024 VirtualTest is as follows: Mass Communication students on Saturday, August 31st at 5:00 PM; Political Science students on Friday, August 30th at 5:30 PM; Business Administration students on Friday, August 30th at 6:30 PM; and Social Science Education students on Friday, August 30th at 5:00 PM.
To qualify for the support fund, participants must subscribe to and learn from the specified video materials provided by the guest lecturers on the Mobile Classroom app.
This initiative, funded by Mobile Classroom Ltd., is designed to encourage learning and empower youth with innovative ideas and business plans that often remain unrealized due to a lack of funds. Akeem Salami, CEO of Mobile Classroom Ltd., invites brands and corporate organizations to partner or sponsor the monthly VirtualTest. Nigerian students are also encouraged to follow @_myclassapp on Twitter for updates and guidance on upcoming VirtualTests and support opportunities.
