Nigerian Boy Scores 323/400 in JAMB, Wins University Scholarship
An intelligent Nigerian boy named Idris Abdul Rasheed Adeiza, who studied in an uncompleted building, scored an impressive 323 out of 400 in the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) examination. This outstanding achievement earned him a full scholarship to university.
Idris, from Kogi State, Nigeria, excelled in the 2024 JAMB exam, which had a high failure rate of 77%. He scored 63 in English, 86 in Mathematics and Physics, and 88 in Chemistry, giving him a total score of 323.
Alex Onyia, the CEO of Educare, shared Idris’s success on Twitter. He mentioned that Idris had the second-highest score in his state. Despite his academic brilliance, Idris, whose father is a bricklayer and mother is a trader, had no plans to continue his education due to financial difficulties.
Idris told the Educare CEO that he wanted to study Chemical Engineering at the Federal University of Technology, Minna, Nigeria. However, because of financial constraints, he was considering learning a trade instead.
After hearing Idris’s story, Alex Onyia offered to support his academic journey. The post about Idris’s achievement gained widespread attention on social media, and many people offered their support.
“He scored 323 in JAMB 2024, making him the second-highest in Kogi State. His dad is a bricklayer, and his mother is a trader. He had no hopes of continuing his education because no one could fund it. He was already considering learning a trade,” Alex shared.
Alex further mentioned that Bere-mont Group, the owners of Bereton Montessori School and Charles Dale Memorial International School in Nigeria, also offered to support Idris’s university education.
The group offered Idris a full scholarship for his entire time at the university. They also promised to support his secondary school by donating books to help other students achieve success like Idris.
“Good News: Bere-mont Group, owners of Bereton Montessori School and Charles Dale Memorial International School in Port-Harcourt, are now offering Idris Abdulrasheed Adeiza a full scholarship for his entire university duration. Additionally, they will donate books to his school to support other students,” Alex said.
