Mudiame University Aims to Curb Brain Drain with Full NUC License

Mudiame University NUC License

Founder of Mudiame University, Prof. Sunny Eromosele, has outlined his vision to create Nigeria’s version of Harvard University. Speaking in Abuja, Eromosele announced his excitement following the recent approval of a permanent operating license by the Nigerian Universities Commission (NUC), a step up from the university’s former provisional status. According to Eromosele, this significant milestone supports the university’s mission to offer education designed for Nigeria’s industrial growth.

With a solid foundation in place, Mudiame University is now set to expand its range of programs. “This permanent license allows us to build upon the university’s academic achievements and provide specialized programs that address Nigeria’s industrial challenges,” Eromosele stated. He envisions Mudiame as a place for technical skills and industrial expertise, drawing from his extensive experience in the oil and gas sector to bridge Nigeria’s skill gaps.

Mudiame University’s programs are carefully chosen to support Nigeria’s industrialization and economic growth goals. Eromosele emphasized that his goal is for the institution to be a leader in industrial education and entrepreneurship. “Our programs are crafted to empower the workforce, foster entrepreneurship, and boost employment across Nigeria,” he explained, adding that the university’s development aims to contribute meaningfully to Nigeria’s job market and industrial readiness.

To tackle the ongoing issue of brain drain, Mudiame University has introduced international collaboration opportunities. Partnerships with institutions in France, Europe, and Canada enable the university to establish a “brain recirculation” system, where students can gain overseas experience and return to Nigeria equipped to make an impact in local industries.

House of Representatives member for Oredo, Iyawe Esosa, expressed support for this development, describing it as a critical step in educational reform. “Prof. Eromosele’s dedication to advancing higher education in Edo and across Nigeria is commendable,” he said, calling on state leaders to support Mudiame’s mission to strengthen the nation’s educational landscape.

The NUC’s approval is a landmark moment for Mudiame University as it pursues its vision to become a prominent force in education and industrial development, driving Nigeria’s progress and workforce preparation.
