Mastercard Foundation is set to host their inaugural EdTech Conference in collaboration with the Nigerian Government this July. It is scheduled to hold at the prestigious Hilton Transcorp in Abuja.
Reeta Roy, President and CEO of Mastercard Foundation, believes technology can greatly help education. She said, “Technology is a powerful way to make things better and move forward.” The conference will bring together young innovators, EdTech leaders, policymakers, investors, philanthropists, and data experts.
Roy mentioned, “In Africa, many young people are changing education with new ideas.” The conference aims to speed up progress in digital education platforms that make learning inclusive for everyone.
Stakeholders from across Africa’s EdTech field will share ideas and work together on solutions. They want to improve access to quality education that is meaningful and fair. Joseph Nsengimana, Director of Mastercard Foundation’s Centre for Innovative Teaching and Learning, talked about how local innovations can transform education in Africa.
Nsengimana said, “Africa can change how education works by investing in local ideas that help more people learn.” The conference will review successful projects and plan how to improve African EdTech to make a bigger impact.
