LASU 2024/2025 post-UTME screening

Lagos State University (LASU) has officially announced the details for its 2024/2025 post-UTME screening exercise. The university will begin the online admission screening for both Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Direct Entry candidates starting from Monday, August 12, 2024, and will run until September 6, 2024.

Candidates interested in participating in the LASU post-UTME screening must meet certain criteria. Firstly, they must have selected LASU as their First Choice of Institution in the 2024 UTME. Additionally, candidates need to have achieved a minimum score of 195 in the UTME. It is also required that candidates be at least 16 years old by October 1, 2024.

The application process for the LASU post-UTME screening involves several steps. Prospective students should visit the LASU official website at www.lasu.edu.ng. They need to navigate to the “Student” section and click on “New Applicants.” From there, they should select “UTME/DE Screening” and log in using their UTME registration number and surname. After logging in, candidates can proceed to make the necessary payment for the admission screening.

The screening will utilize a point grading system that combines UTME scores with Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (SSCE) grades. The grading will be based on the candidate’s performance in the five best relevant subjects for their chosen course. The point system is as follows: A1 is worth 10 points, A2 (B2) is 9 points, A3 (B3) is 8 points, C4 is 7 points, C5 is 6 points, and C6 is 5 points. The total obtainable points amount to 50%.

The announcement of LASU’s post-UTME screening comes alongside similar updates from other institutions. For instance, the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) has also released details for its 2024/25 post-UTME screening, which began on August 5 and will close on August 18, 2024.
