Lagos State University (LASU) has set out three important criteria for prospective Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) candidates applying for admission in the 2024/2025 academic session. First, applicants must have chosen LASU as their first choice institution during their JAMB registration. Second, they must possess at least five O’Level credits, including English Language and Mathematics, from recognized examination bodies like WAEC, NECO, or GCE. Third, candidates need to attain a minimum UTME score of 195 in the 2024 examination.
LASU made this announcement via their official Twitter account, @LASUOfficial, highlighting the importance of meeting these criteria for eligibility. The university stressed that prospective students must adhere to these standards to secure admission for the upcoming academic session.
These criteria show LASU’s commitment to maintaining high academic standards and ensuring that admitted students have the essential qualifications to succeed in their chosen courses. LASU also recently received accreditation from the National Universities Commission (NUC) for 43 out of the 44 courses assessed, demonstrating the university’s dedication to providing quality education in various fields.
LASU responded to recent social media speculation about a degree certificate supposedly discovered at a ‘suya’ spot in Lagos. The university clarified that the certificate was invalidated because of a misspelled surname. LASU confirmed that this incident occurred on November 21, 2018, and emphasized that it is outdated. The university urged the public to ignore any misinformation related to this matter.
LASU maintains its commitment to academic integrity and transparency in admissions. Prospective students are encouraged to stay informed through LASU’s official communication channels for detailed guidelines and updates regarding the admission process.
