The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced that more than 1.5 million candidates have successfully registered for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

However, the Board has cautioned prospective candidates against delaying their registration, emphasizing that the process will close on March 8, 2025, with no extensions.

The registration exercise, which commenced on February 3, 2025, remains on schedule and will conclude as planned.

In a statement issued on Tuesday in Abuja, JAMB’s Public Communication Advisor, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, reaffirmed that the deadline had been widely publicized and included in the official calendar for the 2025 UTME.

“We wish to remind all prospective candidates that there will be no extension of the registration period,” the statement read. “This advisory is particularly crucial due to the recent slowdown in registration numbers. We urge all interested individuals to complete their registration as soon as possible and avoid last-minute rush.”

Dr. Benjamin further noted that the current number of registered candidates aligns with JAMB’s projections for the examination cycle. He stressed the importance of adhering to the Board’s fixed schedule, as subsequent activities—including the examination, result processing, and admissions—are carefully coordinated with other agencies.

“Any extension of the registration deadline would not only disrupt JAMB’s timeline but also affect our partner institutions and agencies that depend on our schedule.

Therefore, candidates should ensure they complete their registration within the stipulated timeframe,” he added.

JAMB urges all candidates yet to register to take immediate action to avoid missing out on the 2025 UTME.
