Member of the House of Representatives representing Bogoro/Dass /Tafawa Balewa Federal Constituency, Jafaru Gambo Leko, has offered scholarships of various forms to 200 Students of the area studying in various higher institutions across the country.
The gesture is part of the Legislator’s efforts at empowering his Constituents as he also presented cash and other empowerment items to selected people drawn from the Three LGAs of the Federal Constituency spending over N100m.
The Federal Lawmaker further presented Food and non-food items to the Constituents, especially Christians for the Christmas celebration.
The distribution was made by the Member representing the Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Honourable Jafaru Gambo Leko in the spirit of the Yuletide season to give back to the people who he is representing.
Jafaru Gambo Leko while flagging off the distribution exercise of the items Tuesday evening in Bauchi, said that the gesture was to alleviate the sufferings the people are going through and empower the Constituents.
According to him, the main objective of the distribution is to alleviate the suffering of the constituents and celebrate the Yuletide season with joy and happiness.
He emphasized that Christians should enjoy the Christmas period and that his empowerment programmes are designed to support his constituents, regardless of their party affiliation.
Speaking earlier, Mr Ya’u Yusuf Soja, who coordinated the event, said that the items distributed included food items, such as Spaghetti, Macaroni, Rice, Groundnut oil, wrappers, and bundles of brocades.
Additionally, empowerment packages, such as money to stakeholders and Party Leaders in the constituency, electric transformers, snooker games, and water pumps, were provided to support the constituents.
“As well as scholarships were also awarded to 200 students to support their education,” he said.
According to him, “This is not the first time Jafaru Gambo Leko has empowered his constituents. Previously, he distributed empowerment items to over 2000 people, Including Point of Sale (POS) machines, sewing machines, barbing clippers, generators, and spraying machines.”
“He also empowered 325 farmers with farm inputs in his constituency.” Ya’u Soja said
The Chairmen of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Bogoro, Dass, and Tafawa Balewa local government areas commended Gambo Leko for his kind gesture, stating that he has done much for the constituents in just one year and seven months.
They expressed their appreciation for his continued good representation and empowerment programmes, saying that the sky would be his limit if he continued in that direction.
