The WIPO Young Experts Program offers participants exposure to both the technical and strategic aspects of IP. This helps them gain the skills and knowledge needed to contribute to their country’s and region’s economic growth. Over a 2-year period, 10 selected professionals will work on various WIPO initiatives.

It is important to note that this program is not intended as a recruitment path into WIPO. Participants will not be allowed to apply for jobs at WIPO during their time in the program, as the goal is to cultivate IP leaders who can make significant contributions globally.

Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for the 2025 WIPO Young Experts Program, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Be under 35 years old at the time of application
  • Be available for the full 24-month duration from 2025 to 2026
  • Hold a university degree
  • Have at least 2 years of relevant experience
  • Possess excellent analytical, research, and organizational skills
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Be proficient in written and spoken English
  • Have knowledge or experience in IP, innovation, or creativity
