International students looking to pursue Masters and PhD degrees in the United States are encouraged to apply for the 2024 Oklahoma State University Scholarship. This scholarship offers full benefits and a yearly stipend of $23,870, along with an additional summer salary of $4,000 to $6,000.

The Gilbert Lab at Oklahoma State University is seeking two graduate students to start in January 2025. These students will receive teaching assistantships through the Department of Integrative Biology, where they may teach ecology or introductory biology labs.

Living in Oklahoma is affordable, making it easier for students to manage on a graduate stipend. The state offers diverse ecoregions, providing a unique environment for biology students.

Eligibility Requirements: To be eligible for the 2024 Oklahoma State University Scholarship, applicants must:

  • Have an undergraduate degree in biology, ecology, wildlife, statistics, or a related field.
  • For PhD applicants, a Master’s degree in one of these fields is required.
  • Have a record of publishing peer-reviewed scientific papers.
  • Possess strong quantitative skills, including data wrangling and visualization in R, statistics (especially hierarchical models and Bayesian analysis), and GIS & remote sensing.
  • Have experience with camera trapping.
  • Experience mentoring undergraduate researchers or coordinating volunteers is preferred.
  • Demonstrate excellent writing and communication skills.

Benefits: The scholarship offers full benefits and a 9-month stipend of $20,542 for MS students or $23,870 for PhD students, supplemented with a 3-month summer salary of $4,000 to $6,000.
