The McKinsey & Company Young Leaders Programme (YLP) 2024 in Lagos is now open for applications. This full-time, one-year consulting program is designed for recent university graduates from diverse academic backgrounds who are passionate about consulting and working in Africa. The program aims to develop exceptional young African talent into real leaders by offering them a unique opportunity to work in McKinsey’s Lagos office as part of a dedicated team.
The Young Leaders Programme is an internship specifically for West African graduates who have either completed or are about to begin their mandatory national youth service. As a participant, you will become an integral member of McKinsey’s teams, directly working with clients and gaining valuable consulting experience.
Programme Details
In this program, you will:
- Work in teams of typically 3-5 consultants, actively participating in all aspects of client engagements, including gathering and analyzing information, formulating and testing hypotheses, and developing and communicating recommendations.
- Have the chance to present results to clients and implement recommendations in collaboration with client team members.
- Acquire new skills and build on your strengths through exceptional training and frequent coaching and mentoring from colleagues.
- Upon successful completion of the YLP, and based on performance, you may be offered a full-time business analyst role at McKinsey’s Lagos office.
Eligibility
To be eligible for the McKinsey & Company Young Leaders Programme, applicants must:
- Hold an undergraduate or master’s degree.
- Have less than three years of work experience.
- Have completed or are about to begin national youth service.
- Have an outstanding academic record.
- Demonstrate leadership through extracurricular activities or work experience.
- Possess exceptional analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills.
- Be able to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Communicate complex ideas effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
