Responsibilities:
Under the guidance of the Senior Financial Accountant (SFA), the intern’s duties include:
- Providing finance administrative support.
- Assisting AP and AR accountants.
- Supporting monthly tax return filings with relevant authorities.
- Preparing financial documents and journal entries.
- Undertaking additional tasks as assigned by the SFA.
Eligibility Requirements:
Essential:
- A bachelor’s degree.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to handle sensitive financial information discreetly.
- Willingness to learn, attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Desirable:
- Experience in developing statistics and charts in Excel.
- Up to 3 years post-NYSC experience in any field of study.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
The intern will report to the Senior Financial Accountant based in Lagos and work closely with the Finance team. All duties must adhere to British Council policies, including Equal Opportunities & Diversity, Information Management, and Child Protection.
