Nigeria will be the only African nation represented at the “2024 Asia Pacific Open Championship” by five students from the Federal Government College, Vandeikya, in Benue State.
The students left Nigeria to participate in the competition, which will be held from August 2nd to 4th, 2024, at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, Wan Chai District, Hong Kong, China. The event is organized by FIRST LEGO League Education, USA.
Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State expressed his support for nurturing young talent and placing Nigeria on the global map in the fields of robotics and artificial intelligence. He emphasized the importance of this opportunity for the students and the state.
The students representing Benue State and Nigeria are Leva Cephas, Gundu Faustina, Okom Linus, Alem Solomon, and Onmeh Sonia. They have been preparing diligently for this prestigious competition, where they will showcase their skills in robotics and innovation.
The Asia Pacific Open Championship is a significant event that brings together students from various countries to compete in robotics.
