Former Minister of Education, Obiageli Ezekwesili, has praised National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member Ushie Rita Uguamaye for her outspoken criticism of President Bola Tinubu’s administration, describing her actions as “admirably bold.”

In a series of posts on X, Ezekwesili, a strong advocate for good governance and accountability, expressed admiration for Uguamaye’s courage in voicing her concerns about the state of the nation.

“May Nigeria produce more daughters and sons like the bold NYSC member—Raye—who know and courageously use the power of their voice to evaluate and give a score of between ‘Terrible’ and ‘Terrific’ to our political and public leaders. Amen,” she wrote.

In another post, Ezekwesili urged Nigerians to learn from Uguamaye, stating that she had given the country a lesson in “Democracy 101.”

“Raye was evidence-based in determining a score of Terrible that she awarded on behalf of all sensible Nigerians who are managing severe hardship in the country. She effectively articulated her message to the @NGRPresident, who runs the Nigerian government and is responsible for her well-being,” Ezekwesili added.

She further emphasized that Nigerians must hold their leaders accountable, noting that Uguamaye’s actions exemplify the constitutional right and duty of every citizen.

“Demanding accountability from public leaders is a right and duty. Raye has just taught all citizens of Nigeria Democracy 101. We all better learn,” she stated.

Uguamaye was reportedly summoned by NYSC officials after her video criticizing the government went viral. However, when she arrived at the NYSC office on Monday, March 17, accompanied by her legal team and former presidential aspirant Omoyele Sowore, the officials were absent.
