Eke Urum, the founder and CEO of Risevest, is taking significant steps to empower young Nigerians by sponsoring the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) for 14 deserving students. This initiative is part of Urum’s commitment to fostering educational opportunities on a global scale through his charity, the Rumexx Foundation.
Urum has announced that all costs related to the SAT registration and examination fees will be covered for these students, who are currently in Senior Secondary School 3 (SS3) or in their second year at any Nigerian university. He expressed that this initiative aims to relieve the financial burden on students and their families, allowing them to concentrate on their studies without the stress of financial challenges.
The inspiration for this sponsorship comes from Urum’s own experiences, highlighting the importance of a solid education. He stated, “Education is really fundamental and it is the best avenue to support and invest in the future of our country. The hope is that the students who do well in their SAT exams can secure scholarships that will help them further their education and contribute to the nation as well as improve their lives and those of their families.”
Urum also shared that the application portal is now open for interested students. Applicants must be either in SS3 or 200 level at any Nigerian school and must have a minimum of five credits in WASSCE or NECO, including English and Mathematics. Additionally, all applicants must be Nigerian citizens residing in Nigeria.
Shortlisted applicants will take a mock SAT test, organized in collaboration with Educare, and the top 14 scorers will receive the sponsorship for the actual SAT exams. This initiative not only aims to enhance individual educational prospects but also contributes to building a brighter future for Nigeria.
