BIC Nigeria partnership

BIC, a global leader in stationery, has partnered with the Ogun State Ministry of Education to support students as they prepare to return to school. The company has donated 50,000 writing tools to students in Ogun State, demonstrating its commitment to enhancing education for 250 million students worldwide by 2025. This initiative is part of BIC’s larger effort in Nigeria to provide students with the essential tools needed for academic success.

Adeyemi Ojo, the Business Development Lead at BIC Nigeria, highlighted the importance of providing students with the necessary resources to succeed in their education. “We are delighted to partner with the Ministry of Education in Ogun State to bring our mission to life,” Ojo said. “As a leading manufacturer of stationery, it is our responsibility to equip learners with the writing tools they need to succeed. The availability of resources is crucial in keeping students in school and preventing dropouts.”

Abayomi Arigbabu, the Commissioner for Education, Science, and Technology in Ogun State, expressed his gratitude for BIC’s generous donation. He emphasized the importance of partnerships between the government and private organizations in advancing education. “This collaboration marks a positive beginning and serves as significant encouragement. In Ogun State’s education sector, we understand that the government cannot do it all alone. We actively seek support from alumni, corporate partners like BIC, and other philanthropists to complement our efforts,” Arigbabu stated.

The event also celebrated the achievements of two exceptional students from Ogun State. Sarah Adelakun, a junior secondary school student from Ebenezer Grammar School, recently placed second in the National Anchor Competition in Abuja. Ayodele Babalola, from Christ Apostolic Grammar School, impressed attendees with a prototype ATM he designed after participating in a state-sponsored technology training program. Both students expressed their gratitude to BIC and the Ogun State government for their support.

In addition to its partnership with Ogun State, BIC Nigeria has previously collaborated with the Lagos State Ministry of Education and the Ghana Education Service to provide writing tools to students during critical examination periods. These initiatives are part of BIC’s ongoing commitment to education through its sustainable development program, ‘Writing the Future Together,’ which focuses on enhancing learning environments and fostering creativity among students in Africa.

BIC’s dedication to education extends beyond donations. The company is also involved in teacher collaboration, classroom creativity initiatives, educator masterclasses, and partnerships with educational institutions to support African youth. This comprehensive approach reflects BIC’s mission to inspire and equip the next generation of students.
