UNESCO, in partnership with Nestlé, has launched an inspiring initiative called Youth Impact – Because You Matter.
The program is one of the international grants for youth development and is all about empowering young individuals to make a real difference in their communities through climate action and sustainability projects.

Program Details
The United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), and Nestle Plc are jointly inviting young individuals to apply for the Youth Impact (Because You Matter) Programme.
The UNESCO-NESTLÉ Youth Impact Programme is focused on providing young changemakers with the vital resources, skills, and support they need to bring their innovative ideas to life.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for UNESCO Nestle Youth Impact Programme, applicants must:
The Youth Impact – Because You Matter Program’s primary and direct beneficiaries will be young individuals, youth-led organizations, enterprises, associations, or networks who:
- Are identified as “youth” in their respective countries or (in lack of a national definition) within the age range of 18-30 years old from the beginning to the end of the project.
- Engage in activism and changemaking initiatives, entrepreneurialism, either individually or as members of entities/associations.
- Youth-led organization and networks, seeking impact at grassroots level, with regional, national, local scope, or chapters of international organizations, and based in the country where their proposal will be implemented.
- All applications will propose projects that are:
- Relevant to the Initiative’s themes as elaborated above
- Implemented within 6 months
- Local or national in scope
- Delivered by a team of at least 3 young people with a clearly identified project leader.
Program Benefits
Successful applicants of this program will receive:
- A full tuition fee waiver for the year, plus a stipend of £8,000 which will be paid over 12 months.
- Applicants who can evidence their refugee status will be considered a priority group, however the University may extend the invite to apply to further applicants.
Required Documents
To apply for this program, applicants must prepare:
- Application Form for Shaanxi Normal University International Student Scholarship (written in Chinese or English).
- Signed highest diploma (photocopy).
- Academic transcripts (written in Chinese or English).
- Research results: Published thesis, award certificates, etc. to prove their academic achievements and research capabilities.
- A Study Plan or Research Proposal (written in Chinese or English, a minimum of 800 words for master applicants and 1500 words for PhD applicants).
- Two Recommendation Letters (written in Chinese or English).
- Chinese HSK Certificate
- Photocopy of Passport Photo Page
- Signed No Criminal Activity Certificate (in English or Chinese)
- Foreigner Physical Examination Form (photocopy)
