Scholarship Details
The CERN Technical Student Program in Switzerland is a full-time training opportunity that spans from 2 to 12 months.
It is an opportunity for motivated students looking to to work in a unique environment at the cutting edge of technology.
Applicants are to apply now for a place on the programme to learn and contribute their knowledge in any of the following disciplines : applied physics; electrical or electronics engineering; general or civil engineering; IT, mathematics and robotics; material and surface science; mechanical engineering
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must:
- Be a national of a CERN Member or Associate Member State.
- Have completed at least 18 months of their undergraduate studies (Bachelor or Master’s) specializing in an administrative field at the time of the next student committee taking place in 2025.
- Remain registered as a full-time student during the internship.
- Must have a good knowledge of English or French.
Scholarship Benefits
Successful applicants of the scholarship will receive:
- A contract of association for 2 to 12 months.
- A monthly allowance of 3452 Swiss Francs (net of tax).
- A travel allowance.
- Additional financial support if you are married and/or have children.
- Comprehensive health insurance coverage.
- 2.5 days of paid leave per month.
Required Documents

- A copy of applicants’ most recent academic transcript giving an overview of their marks (if you download it from your university portal please make sure there is no protection so that we can open it).
- A reference letter from applicants’ university Professor is mandatory. Should applicants have one from a previous internship, they may add this as a second reference.
