Scholarship Details
The Ontario Graduate Scholarship program encourages excellence in graduate studies at publicly-assisted universities in Ontario.
The scholarship program is funded by the Ontario government and participating institutions. The government contributes two-thirds of the value of the awards and the university provides the remaining one-third.
The Ontario Graduate Scholarship is available to students across all disciplines of academic study; and available to Canadian Citizens/Permanent Residents and International students.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must:
- Be in graduate studies at the master’s or doctoral level
- Be enrolled in a full-time program for 2 or more terms (21 to 52 weeks in total) for the academic year you’re submitting your application.
- Be attending one of the participating Ontario schools listed below in the program.
- OGS is a merit-based scholarship. Applicants’ applications are assessed and ranked using criteria determined by the school they’re planning to attend.
Scholarship Benefits
Successful applicants of the scholarship will receive:
- $10,000 for 2 consecutive study terms
- $15,000 for 3 consecutive study terms
Each OGS award is issued for:
- A minimum of 1 academic year (2 or 3 consecutive academic terms)
- A maximum of 2 years (up to 6 consecutive academic terms).
