Fellowship Details
The NNPC TotalEnergies ETT Fellowship is designed to contribute to Nigeria’s socio-economic development by transforming engineering education. Fellows will be exposed to advanced teaching methods and innovative curriculum development at one of the world’s top institutions—MIT.
The mission is to empower Nigerian faculty with tools to modernize local university instruction in engineering and technology fields, bridging the gap between academic theory and real-world problem solving.
Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for the NNPC TotalEnergies ETT Fellowship, applicants must:
- Be passionate about curriculum innovation and educational transformation
- Hold a PhD and serve as a faculty member in a Nigerian university
- Be teaching in any of the following disciplines:
- Computer Science
- Electrical Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Chemical Engineering
- Petroleum Engineering
- Geophysics
- Hold a minimum rank of Lecturer One
Fellowship Benefit
Selected fellows will spend one academic semester at MIT in either:
- Fall 2025: September to December 2025
- Spring 2026: February to May 2026
Fellows will receive:
- Full travel sponsorship
- Living allowance
- Access to instructional materials and academic resources
- Opportunities to:
- Attend and observe at least two MIT classes related to their teaching
- Develop modern curriculum and teaching approaches
- Participate in weekly seminars on curriculum design and MIT culture
