The KNUST Mastercard Foundation Scholarship offers a comprehensive package that includes full tuition, accommodation, travel, books, laptop, and postgraduate internship for selected candidates.

Scholarship Details 

Mastercard Foundation Scholarship at KNUST (Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology) provides access to quality education to qualified academically talented yet economically disadvantaged young people in deprived communities of Ghana and Africa and empower them to give-back to community.

The Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in Ghana is a partnership between KNUST and the Mastercard Foundation, headquartered in Toronto, Canada.

The scholarship seeks to train 2,250 scholars over an aggregated 15-year period 750 Scholars in Phase I – 2014-2019 and 1,500 Scholars in Phase II – 2019-2029) to contribute significantly to societal change and the transformation of Africa.

Eligibility Criteria 

To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must:

  • Have in their possession, a genuine and valid WASSCE or GBCE or ABCE or GCE O Level and A Level or their equivalent results from an accredited/recognized institution. Applicant’s results must not be more than five years old. NO AWAITING RESULTS candidate will be processed for the scholarship.
  • Meet KNUST’s Admission Requirements
  • Demonstrate that he/she has Critical Economic Needs.
  • Have Proven Records of Leadership and Community Engagement(s).
  • Priority shall be given to;
    • Females
    • Displaced Persons (Certified Refugees, Internally Displaced Persons, and the like)
    • Persons living with Disability
  • Be prepared to Go-Back and Give-Back to his or her Community.
  • NOT be enrolled in any tertiary institution.

Scholarship Benefits 

Successful applicants of this scholarship will receive:
