In order to deepen the academic friendship and mutual understanding between Chinese and foreign young generations, and to build a platform for the international exchanges and cooperation of young talents.
China Scholarship Council (CSC) has established the China Link Scholarship Program for international students and faculties hoping to engage in academic and research activities in China.
Eligibility Criteria
To be qualified for The China Link Scholarship, applicants must:
- Be a citizen of a country other than the People’s Republic of China, have good moral character and academic excellence, be in good health, both mentally and physically.
- Be under 45 years of age when applying for general scholars.
- Be under 50 years of age when applying for senior scholars.
- Be registered as a full-time student or employed as a full-time academic staff at CSC’s foreign partner universities at the time of application and throughout their proposed stay in China.
- Have received either the admission notice or the invitation letter issued by the Chinese host university.Â
Scholarship Benefits
Successful applicants of The China Link Scholarship will receive:

- monthly stipend (CNY 3,000 for general scholars; CNY 3,500 for senior scholars)
How to Apply
To apply for The China Link Scholarship:
- Applicants should contact the Chinese host university to obtain admission documents or invitations.
- Applicants should log into the Chinese Government Scholarship Information System (https://studyinchina.csc.edu.cn/#/login) to complete the CSC online application and upload supporting documents.
- Applications will be processed by Chinese host universities.
- Chinese universities should submit scholarship nomination lists to CSC at least 2 months before the start of study. The submission time could be flexible according to each university’s enrollment and admission arrangements.
- CSC notifies scholarship admission results to Chinese host universities.
- Chinese host universities will notify the scholarship admission results to applicants.Â
