Dr. Frank Igbojindu, founder of Akpoazaa Foundation Nigeria, has awarded N500,000 to the three best graduating students of Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK), Awka, Anambra State. The award ceremony took place on Wednesday at the university premises as part of its 19th convocation celebrations.
During the presentation, Dr. Igbojindu emphasized that the initiative was aimed at encouraging human capital development and reinforcing education as the most valuable investment for future generations. He urged successful individuals from Anambra State to contribute to educational growth, highlighting that an educated individual is never a liability to society.
The donation recognized academic excellence in the Faculty of Management Sciences and the Department of Accountancy. The overall best graduating student, from the Department of Electronic and Computer Engineering, received N250,000. The best graduating student from the Faculty of Management Sciences was awarded N150,000, while the best from the Department of Accountancy received N100,000.
Expressing gratitude on behalf of the recipients, the overall best graduating student praised the foundation for recognizing academic excellence and investing in education. He emphasized the importance of surrounding oneself with the right influences and staying focused on academic goals.
The acting Vice-Chancellor of UNIZIK, Professor Joseph Ikechebelu, commended Dr. Igbojindu and the Akpoazaa Foundation for their generosity. He encouraged other individuals and organizations to follow their example by supporting education and fostering academic excellence.
