The GREAT Scholarships, organized by the British Council and the UK government’s GREAT Britain campaign, aim to help students from 18 countries study at UK higher education institutions in 2025. This program supports students by offering financial assistance for one-year taught master’s programs in the UK.
The application deadline for institutions to submit their bids is September 1, 2024.
The GREAT Scholarships 2025 program, in partnership with the British Council and the UK’s GREAT Britain campaign, provides scholarships for international students to enroll in one-year master’s programs at UK universities. This program is specifically for students from Bangladesh, China, Egypt, France, Ghana, Greece, Kenya, India, Indonesia, Italy, Malaysia, Mexico, Nigeria, Pakistan, Spain, Thailand, Turkey, and Vietnam, with studies commencing in autumn 2025.
Eligibility and Fields of Study
The scholarships are available for all subjects, with particular emphasis on Justice and Law, Science, and Technology. Eligible applicants must be passport holders and residents of the targeted countries, and they must be enrolled in UK higher education institutions.
Selection and Benefits
Applicants are selected based on institutional bids and program criteria. The program offers a total of 200 scholarships distributed among the 18 participating countries.

Application Process and Timeline

- September 1, 2024: Deadline for submission of bids.
- September 11, 2024: Institutions are informed of bid results.
- September 29, 2024: Confirmation of scholarship details and promotional content.
- October 2024: Production of campaign promotional materials and landing pages.
- November 2024: Launch of the GREAT Scholarships campaign.
- January – February 2025: Grant agreements signed and funding issued.
- June 30, 2025: Scholarships issued to winning scholars for the 2025 autumn intake.
- June – July 2025: Pre-departure briefings for scholars.
