LAUTECH Rewards Six Best Graduating Students with N500,000 Each

Six outstanding graduates of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, have each received a cash reward of N500,000 in recognition of their academic excellence.

The reward was given by Professor Banji Oyelaran-Oyeyinka, Convocation Lecturer and Senior Special Adviser on Industrialization to the President of the African Development Bank. The beneficiaries include Adeduntan Badirat, the overall best graduating student for the 2023/2024 academic session, who earned a CGPA of 4.86 in Science Laboratory Technology, along with five top-performing Engineering graduates.

Among the other awardees are Komolafe Teslim Gbolahan, who graduated with a CGPA of 4.77 from the Department of Electronics and Electrical Engineering; AbdulRasheed Wasiu, with a CGPA of 4.72 in Chemical Engineering; and Oladipo Johnson Omoniyi, who finished with a CGPA of 4.71 in Civil Engineering.

Also on the list are Oyelade Oluwaseun Oluwafikunmi, who graduated with a CGPA of 4.67 in Computer Engineering, and Eniade Miracle Stephen, who earned a CGPA of 4.62 in Mechanical Engineering.

In his convocation lecture titled “Can Nigeria Thrive in Times of Tumultuous and Rapid Technological Changes?”, Professor Oyelaran-Oyeyinka called on the Federal Government to increase investment in technological development. He emphasised the importance of strengthening Nigeria’s technological capabilities to ensure national growth and competitiveness in a rapidly evolving global landscape.
