The European Union Traineeship offers students a unique opportunity to gain first hand experience in EU policy making through paid placements in its offices across Europe and Africa.
trainees will get a living stipend of €3,600 to help cover living expenses during the traineeship program to the African Union.

Program Details
The training is a traineeship of up to 6 months within the Political, Press and Information – PPI Section of the EU Delegation to the African Union, starting in 2 May 2025
The Green and Digital Economy Section of the EU Delegation is in charge of managing projects and programs spanning the sectors of: agriculture, climate, renewable energy and energy efficiency, circular economy, innovation and digitalization, youth employment, MSMEs, and investment.
Eligibility Criteria
To be qualified for The European Union Traineeship, applicants must:
- Be residents in Ethiopia
- Have Master’s degree in political science, international relations, economics, law or other social studies
- Have maximum 1 year of work experience
- Be fluent in English
- Have excellent analytical and drafting skills, a keen understanding of and interest in African Union’s politics, economics and governance
- Have hands-on, proactive, reliable attitude, an openness to learning, and willingness to contribute with ideas.
Program Benefits
Successful applicants of The European Union Traineeship will receive:
- A monthly grant to cover living expenses.
