Scholarship Details
Launched in 2018/19, the Mastercard Foundation Graduate Scholars Program at the University of Gondar aims to award 160 graduate scholarships over eight years. It is targeted at students who have shown academic excellence but face financial challenges, particularly those living with disabilities or from disadvantaged communities.
This initiative supports the development of leadership skills and professional competence, enabling scholars to become change-makers in their communities and beyond.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the Mastercard Foundation Scholarship at Gondar University 2025, applicants must:
- Hold a relevant bachelor’s degree earned within the last 5 years
- Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale
- Be a citizen and permanent resident of Ethiopia, Somalia, Eritrea, Djibouti, or South Sudan
- Have resided in one of the eligible countries for at least five years
- Be a youth living with disabilities (strongly encouraged to apply)
- Be a female student with financial difficulties (also strongly encouraged to apply)
