Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has inaugurated Community Learning Officers (CLOs) to address the challenge of out-of-school children across the state.

Speaking at the Umaru Musa Yar’Adua University, Katsina, he emphasized the officers’ critical role in monitoring school attendance, ensuring teacher accountability, and reducing absenteeism to secure a brighter future for the next generation.

Radda highlighted that the initiative is a key component of the Community Development Programme (CDP), which aims to uplift the lives of Katsina residents through community-driven policies. He noted that the program has already made a significant impact in various sectors, including education, agriculture, and women empowerment.

He further stressed the importance of strong leadership at the community level, urging CLOs and local leaders to uphold integrity, transparency, and accountability in implementing development efforts.

The Governor also underscored the CDP’s contribution to enhancing security, citing the success of the Katsina Community Watch Corps (C-Watch) in curbing banditry and other threats, a model that has since been adopted by neighboring states. He assured that the initiative would continue to evolve to address the needs of the people effectively.

State officials and program coordinators praised the initiative, describing it as a transformative approach to governance. They reaffirmed their commitment to its success, emphasizing that a collective effort is required to drive lasting change in Katsina.
