A House of Representatives aspirant for Ibadan North Federal Constituency under the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Olamide Junaid, has sponsored the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) registration for over 1,000 indigent students in the constituency.
Junaid said the initiative was aimed at providing opportunities for students who aspire to further their education but are hindered by financial constraints.
Speaking at the scholarship presentation ceremony in Ibadan, tagged Olamide Balikis Junaid Foundation Edu-Support Initiative Free JAMB Forms, Junaid—represented by the foundation’s Director General, Abubakar Abdul—emphasized her longstanding commitment to supporting the masses, both in Ibadan and beyond, even before joining politics.
He described her as the best candidate for the Ibadan North Federal Constituency seat, assuring that she would expand such initiatives if elected. Abdul also encouraged beneficiaries to view education as a vital tool for success and national development.
APC Chairman in Ibadan North Local Government, Alhaji Taofeek Olaiwola, praised Junaid’s efforts, describing her as a dedicated party member and a strong advocate for the welfare of the people. Similarly, the APC Youth Leader in Ibadan North, Aliu Babatunde, acknowledged that the scholarships had significantly eased the burden on many students.
The beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the gesture, stating that the support would greatly assist in their educational pursuits.
