Applications are now open for the 2025/2026 University of Surrey AI Scholarship.
The UKRI AI Centre for Doctoral Training in AI for Digital Media Inclusion combines the world-leading expertise of the Surrey Institute for People-Centred AI (PAI) at the University of Surrey, a pioneer in AI technologies for the creative industries (vision, audio, language, machine learning) and StoryFutures at Royal Holloway University of London, leader in creative production and audience experience (arts, psychology, user research, creative production).
Eligibility Criteria
To he eligible for this scholarship, applicants must:
- Have a bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- Demonstrate academic excellence, a passion for research in AI for digital media inclusion, and evidence of effective teamwork.
Scholarship Benefits
Successful applicants of this scholarship will receive:
- UK home tuition fees
- Tax-free maintenance payment based on UKRI’s minimum rate: UKRI recently announced a stipend increase for 2025/2026 to be £20,780 per year from 1st October 2025.
- Enhanced supplement of £4,000 per year
- As a doctoral student, you may be able to access additional funding to cover the cost of other related training and development opportunities.
