Programme Details
Since its inception in 1987, the Leventis Foundation has been at the forefront of agricultural training, with six agricultural training schools strategically established across different agro-ecological zones in Nigeria.
These schools, located in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Osun, Kano, and Gombe states, are co-funded by the Leventis Foundation and the respective State Governments.
The objective of the Leventis Foundation Agricultural Training Programme, which is FREE OF ALL COSTS to the beneficiary, is to create in Nigeria, generations of committed young practical farmers who will act as a catalyst for an agricultural revolution in their communities while advancing the food system.
Admission is open to both male and female candidates, Tuition and boarding (including feeding) are provided free of charge for successful candidates throughout the duration of the course.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for this training, applicants must:
- Be physically fit.
- Ability to read and write in English (evidence of the minimum of secondary leaving school certificate may be required).
- Aged between 18 and 40 years old.
- Pass both written and oral tests prior to final selection.
- Demonstrate a perceivable interest in
- agriculture
- Proof of a farming background is an advantage.

- Shortlisted candidates will be contacted for screening.
- Applicants are to come along with the following documents on the screening day;
- A handwritten cover letter.
- A letter of attestation, signed by either the Chairman or Secretary of applicant’s Local Government of Origin or a Justice of the Peace (JP).
- Attach the following documents:
- Two (2) recent passport-sized photographs.
- Three (3) reference letters.
- Photocopies of applicant’s academic qualifications or any other relevant documents.
