The National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) has granted full institutional accreditation to Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja, and approved full accreditation for 18 programs presented by the institution.

This milestone was announced by the Rector, Professor Salisu Ogbo Usman, during the Polytechnic’s 32nd matriculation ceremony.

The Rector also revealed that the NBTE approved the introduction of eight new programs, further expanding the institution’s academic offerings.

He described the 100 percent quality assurance success achieved for 27 programs as a continuation of the remarkable accreditation success recorded in 2022 when all 30 programs presented to NBTE received full accreditation.

The recent accreditation exercise took place from December 18 to 20, 2024. Prof. Usman highlighted that no program at the Polytechnic has been denied accreditation or placed on interim status, underscoring the institution’s unwavering commitment to academic excellence and stability. Of the 57 programs currently offered, 19 were introduced under his administration, accounting for 33.3 percent of the total programs.

Prof. Usman attributed this success to the collective efforts of the institution’s Principal Officers, Management, Academic Board, and all staff members, including cleaners, drivers, and security personnel, who worked diligently to ensure the accreditation and resource inspection process was successful.

He extended special appreciation to the Executive Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, for his steadfast support and for creating an enabling environment that has allowed the institution to thrive.

Reiterating his vision, Prof. Usman pledged to continue rebranding Kogi State Polytechnic into a model institution admired by other polytechnics and educational institutions across Nigeria and beyond.

This achievement, he noted, marks another step toward transforming the Polytechnic into a beacon of academic excellence and innovation.
