The British Council is awarding scholarships to inspire future generations of linguists with passion for languages, and to begin a rewarding career as a Modern Foreign Languages teacher.
Applicants can apply for the 2025 British Council Language Teachers Training Scholarship and get paid to teach in England.
Eligibility Criteria
To apply for The British Council Teachers Training Scholarship, applicants must:
- Have a 2:1, or predicted 2:1 in a Bachelor of Honours degree (or equivalent) or
- A relevant PhD or Master’s degree, or recognised equivalent in one of the following languages:
- French
- German
- Spanish
- The British Council may also consider an application if the applicant has a bachelor of honours degree (or equivalent) in another subject, or a 2.2 (or predicted 2.2) if applicants can demonstrate significant knowledge of the target languages.
- Applicants must also have secured a place on an eligible non-salaried languages teacher training scheme in England for the 2025/26 academic year by September 2025.
