Gov Bala Expresses Satisfaction With Renovation of Bauchi NYSC Camp

Bauchi Governor, Sen Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir, on Saturday, stopped over at the Permanent Orientation Camp of the NYSC in Wailo, Ganjuwa LGA, on his way back to Bauchi to inspect the ongoing complete reno and remodeling of structures at the camp to make it more habitable for the Corps members.

The Governor expressed satisfaction with the quality of work executed in the first phase of the total renovation of the camp, commending the contractors for a good job.

During an unscheduled visit to the project site, the Governor inspected the newly completed Corps members’ hostels and the ongoing construction of a Multipurpose hall.

While fielding questions from Journalists after the inspection, Bala Mohammed explained that the project was initiated to address the infrastructural decay and improve the living conditions of Corps members posted to the State during the 3-week camping exercise.

The Governor said that the project covers the total rehabilitation of existing structures and the construction of new ones, rehabilitation of the motorized boreholes, and opening of more access roads to increase and improve the network, among other things.

He then commended the contractor for adhering to specifications and assured that the state government would add value to the project by constructing new buildings and an internal road network.

The State Chairman of the Project Monitoring and Evaluation Committee, Architect Baba Muhammed Dadi, who conducted the Governor around the Camp, assured him that the work would stand the test of time.

He said that with the closure of camping, work on all the affected structures would commence describing the project as a major intervention since the Camp was constructed many years ago.
