The Trust for Sustainable Living (TSL) is calling for entries from students worldwide for the 2025 TSL Essay Competition. This competition encourages young people to share their thoughts on how nature can support the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) within their communities. With a focus on eco-anxiety, the competition aims to inspire students to express their ideas and explore how nature can drive solutions for environmental challenges.
TSL Essay Topic 2025
From Eco-Anxiety to Eco Action & Empowerment
Students are invited to submit original responses, whether through essays, poems, videos, artwork, or music, to express how they believe nature can help address eco-anxiety and empower communities. Submissions should reflect personal views, experiences, and ideas on the theme.
Rewards for TSL Essay Competition Winners
- Grand Prize Winner: £1,000 + £500 for their school
- Runner Up: £500 + £250 for their school
- All Teacher Champions, Essay Finalists, Honourable Mentions, and International Debate participants will receive personalized e-certificates.
Requirements for Participation
- All submissions must be original and student-created.
- Essays must include a bibliography where necessary, without exceeding the word limit.
- Students may use AI tools for research support but should not submit AI-generated work as their own. AI usage must be acknowledged in the bibliography.
Age-Based Word Limit
- Primary students (ages 7-11): 400 words
- Secondary and College students (ages 12-18): 600 words
