Tuition free education in Nigeria

The management of the newly established University of Ilesa (UNILESA) in Osun State has received praise for offering tuition-free education for all its 18 courses in the Education field. Bishop Seun Adeoye, the General Overseer of Sufficient Grace and Truth International Ministries and the International Communication Director of Worldwide Anglican Church (WAC), commended the initiative in a statement made in Okinni, Osun State.

Bishop Adeoye also recognized Bells University of Technology in Otta, Ogun State, and Landmark University in Omu-Aran, Kwara State, for providing free tuition for their Agriculture programs for several years. He expressed that UNILESA’s decision to make education accessible to prospective students from their first year until graduation is a significant development for those passionate about learning.

In his statement, he highlighted the importance of this initiative, noting that it would encourage more young people to pursue education and agricultural studies. He emphasized that as Nigeria’s population continues to grow, there will be a high demand for graduates in these fields, making this an opportune moment for students to seize the opportunity.

Bishop Adeoye urged parents to support their children in taking advantage of these educational opportunities, especially in Education and Agriculture. He believes that the initiative is a commendable effort that can transform the educational landscape and benefit society.

Additionally, the bishop called on other higher education institutions in Nigeria to follow the examples set by UNILESA, Bells, and Landmark universities. He emphasized that many families are currently struggling to finance their children’s education, and such initiatives can significantly ease this burden.

The bishop’s commendation highlights the positive impact of tuition-free education on society and encourages a shift towards more accessible educational opportunities in Nigeria.
