The Borel Global Fellowship Program has a powerful mission: to combat food and nutrition insecurity while promoting wealth and health for subsistence farmers in Sub-Saharan Africa. By educating and supporting scientists who will become knowledge leaders, the program aims to create lasting positive change in the region.
This scholarship was made possible through a generous gift from Iowa State University alumni Jim (’78 agricultural business) and Marcia (’78 family environment) Borel, who launched the program in 2018 to support educational opportunities for African students.
