Bridge House College recently celebrated its 20th anniversary in Lagos with a graduation ceremony honoring 116 students. The event focused on ‘Artificial Intelligence and Education: Opportunities and Challenges’. Mrs. Bamidele Abiodun, wife of the Ogun governor, highlighted the importance of improving education across Nigeria through strategic partnerships between public and private sectors. She emphasized using the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as a guide for comprehensive educational reforms.

Mrs. Abiodun stressed the need to equip children with skills to adapt to AI technologies while integrating moral education to nurture critical thinking, creativity, and emotional intelligence. She cited successful examples from global tech industries that have improved education worldwide.

Despite improvements in policy and infrastructure, Mrs. Abiodun acknowledged persistent challenges in Nigeria’s education system, including over 10 million out-of-school children and issues like cultism and drug abuse among students.

At the ceremony, Mr. Tony Elumelu, Chairman of Heirs Holdings, encouraged graduates to uphold values of discipline, hard work, and mentorship in their pursuit of success. He advised them to stay resilient in overcoming challenges.

Dr. Foluke Abdulrazaq, Executive Director of Bridge House College, discussed the transformative impact of AI in education. She commended graduates for their dedication and encouraged them to see challenges as opportunities for personal and professional growth. Dr. Abdulrazaq urged graduates to approach problems as pathways to achieving success and prosperity.

The event concluded with awards recognizing outstanding academic achievements, highlighting Bridge House College’s commitment to academic excellence and character development.
