JAMB Plans Special SIMs for UTME Registration

Special SIMs for UTME registration

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) is working with the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) to create special SIM cards for students registering for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). This is to help solve problems with stolen or lost SIM cards and make the registration process easier and safer.

Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, JAMB’s Registrar, shared this news during a meeting with the West Africa Civil Societies Forum (WACSOF). He said that these special SIM cards would only be used for UTME registration. They will be given to parents and will last for five years. This ensures that they can be used for several exams without needing to be replaced.

Prof. Oloyede believes that these customized SIMs will fix many problems students face during registration. He promised that JAMB is dedicated to making the UTME registration process smoother and more user-friendly. The special SIM cards are expected to greatly reduce registration issues, making the process more efficient.

He also mentioned that JAMB is committed to using the latest technology to improve its services for Nigerians. By using advanced solutions, JAMB aims to offer better and more reliable services to students and their families. This plan is part of JAMB’s effort to make the UTME registration and exam process better.

Working with the NCC is an important step for JAMB to make the UTME registration as secure and simple as possible. By addressing the issue of SIM theft and loss, JAMB hopes to create a more reliable registration system. This partnership is expected to improve how students register for their exams.

In summary, JAMB’s plan to use special SIMs for UTME students shows its commitment to improving the registration process. By partnering with the NCC, JAMB aims to solve problems students face and provide a more dependable and user-friendly system. This effort highlights JAMB’s ongoing work to improve its services through innovative technology.
